AN EXAMPLE OF ONE POPULAR CRUISE
CHOICE:
4-hour Canals, Koalas & Beach
Cruise
First a friendly welcome by
your crew and then your cruise departs from the Post Office jetty
in Paynesville. The first leg of the cruise takes you through the
man-made canal system. Enjoy your morning Tea and commentary by
your local Captain as you marvel at the creative architect designed
homes and luxurious boats moored at their doorsteps.
Then you cruise south through
Paynesville’s quaint boat harbour to sleepy Raymond Island. Here a
short stop and a leisurely stroll to look for Koalas. Plenty of
Rosellas and Rainbow Lorikeets to keep you company along the way as
you soak up the Islands laid-back atmosphere.
Next, relax as you cruise
over Lake Victoria, passing by low lying islands which act as
nesting sites for some of the 296 species of birds in the Gippsland
Lakes Coastal Park. Expect to see cormorants, terns, swans, ducks,
pelicans and sometimes a sea eagle is it soars along the waters
edge. Dolphins occasionally frolic alongside, so keep an eye out
for them. We dock at the Old Steamer Landing for a short stroll to
the 90 Mile Beach and a view of
Bass Strait. Then it’s back to the Post
Office Jetty via Steamer Channel, but not before pausing to view a
large pelican rookery on the way.
Enterprise Cruises are
keen to attract more bus groups to Paynesville so will be
offering the
above tour, at a special discounted rate to bus
groups. $25* per person
(*Including complimentary
tea/coffee/biscuits. Minimum numbers apply.)
